BANSHO, an upscale Japanese restaurant specialises in its exceptional culinary experience, is seeking a skilled sushi/sous chef to join our team. As our sushi/sous chef, you will work alongside our head chef to create outstanding Japanese dishes that delight our customers' palates.
The ideal candidate for this position will have at least 3 years of experience working with Japanese cuisine and a passion for creating innovative dishes using traditional Japanese cooking techniques. We are looking for someone who is detail-oriented, creative, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
- Assist the head chef in creating and preparing Japanese dishes for our menu
- Oversee and train kitchen staff in the preparation and presentation of Japanese dishes
- Ensure the quality and consistency of food served to customers
- Manage inventory and ordering of ingredients
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation regulations
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience working with Japanese cuisine
- Proficiency in Japanese premium sushi cooking techniques
- Must be eligible to work in Australia(no sponsorship visa)
- Strong organizational and leadership skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Food safety and sanitation knowledge
- Excellent communication skills
